1. Company Information
Metal Hinges Manufacturing (FARRCO) is a metalwork and CNC laser cutting workshop based in Siġġiewi, Malta. The online quoting platform at cnclaserquote.com is operated by Metal Hinges Manufacturing.
2. Definitions
"We", "Us", "Our" refers to Metal Hinges Manufacturing. "Client", "You", "Your" refers to any person or entity using our services or platform. "Order" means a confirmed request for CNC laser cutting or related manufacturing services. "Quote" means a price estimate provided through our platform or directly.
3. Quotations & Pricing
- All quotes are estimates based on DXF/DWG file geometry and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- Final pricing may vary based on current material market prices, file complexity, or additional finishing requirements.
- All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless explicitly stated. VAT at 18% applies to domestic Malta orders.
- Intra-EU B2B transactions may qualify for zero-rated VAT with a valid and verified EU VAT number under the reverse charge mechanism.
- Material costs are subject to market fluctuations and may be adjusted at the time of order confirmation.
4. Orders & Payment
- An order is binding only upon confirmation by Metal Hinges Manufacturing and receipt of payment or agreed payment terms.
- New clients: full payment is required before production begins.
- Established accounts: payment terms may be agreed (e.g. 30 days net).
- Payment may be made by bank transfer or other methods as communicated at the time of order.
- We reserve the right to withhold delivery of completed goods until full payment is received.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
- Orders may be cancelled free of charge before production has started.
- Once cutting has begun, no refund is available as all items are custom-manufactured to your specifications (EU Consumer Rights Directive, Article 16(c) — custom-made goods exemption).
- If materials have been ordered specifically for your job, material costs may be charged even if the order is cancelled before cutting.
6. Manufacturing Tolerances & Quality
- Standard cutting tolerance is ±0.5mm unless tighter tolerances are agreed in writing.
- We use standard EN-grade materials unless a specific grade is requested and confirmed.
- Laser cutting characteristics such as minor heat discolouration, dross on the underside, and micro-joint marks are normal and expected. These do not constitute defects.
- Deburring, grinding, bending, welding, painting, galvanising, or any finishing operations are not included unless explicitly quoted.
- We reserve the right to add micro-joints to prevent parts from falling during cutting. These are standard practice and may leave small tabs that require removal.
7. Client-Supplied Files & Designs
- The client is responsible for ensuring all DXF/DWG files are correct, to scale, and suitable for laser cutting.
- We are not liable for errors in client-supplied designs including incorrect dimensions, missing holes, or unsuitable geometry.
- We may, at our discretion, advise on potential issues but are not obligated to review designs for errors.
- The client warrants that they have the legal right to manufacture any designs submitted and that doing so does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
8. Intellectual Property
- All designs and DXF files uploaded remain the property of the client.
- We may retain copies of files for the purpose of re-ordering, quality assurance, and record keeping.
- We will not share client designs with third parties without written permission.
- Any designs created by us (e.g. "Our Design" option) remain our intellectual property until the associated order is paid in full.
9. Collection & Delivery
- Completed orders are available for collection from our workshop in Siġġiewi, Malta unless delivery has been separately arranged and quoted.
- Risk of loss or damage passes to the client upon collection or handover to a courier.
- Orders not collected within 30 days of completion notification may incur storage charges or be disposed of at our discretion.
- For shipping within the EU, the client is responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise agreed.
10. Liability
- Our total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the total value of that order.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages including but not limited to: lost profits, production delays, costs of substitute goods, or third-party claims.
- Force majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control including supply chain disruptions, equipment breakdown, power failures, natural disasters, pandemics, or government actions.
11. EU Cross-Border Advantage
- As a Malta-based EU manufacturer, shipments within the EU are free of customs duties and import tariffs.
- B2B clients with a valid EU VAT number benefit from zero-rated VAT under the reverse charge mechanism.
- We provide all necessary documentation for intra-EU transactions.
12. Dispute Resolution
- These terms are governed by the Laws of Malta.
- Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Malta.
- We encourage clients to contact us directly to resolve any issues before pursuing formal proceedings.
13. Amendments
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The current version will always be available at this page. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
